My Mission: Making Catholic Faith REAL
Setting the record straight about why I do what I do.
A lot of people misunderstand what I'm doing here. It's not just about my presence on social media or through my podcast. I’m not here just to help people be better Catholics. While that’s a part of it, my ultimate goal is much deeper and more profound. We are all on a journey toward heaven, striving toward our ultimate destiny: becoming saints. Souls in heaven are saints. But becoming a saint isn't just about the destination. It’s about the journey, the lives we've lived, and the experiences we've had that form who we are. So, what I aim to do is make the Catholic faith real for you—not just something to understand intellectually or theoretically, but something to truly absorb.
The faith often becomes just an intellectual exercise.
Making Faith Real
It’s important that you not only understand the faith but that it becomes a part of who you are. This deeper absorption changes the way you live your life on earth and changes how you experience life and the world (and God!), making this single opportunity to chase holiness and experience God as a human being truly meaningful. The faith often becomes just an intellectual exercise. It can become mere furniture in our lives—something we decorate our existence with—rather than the very house we live in.
My Mission
So, my mission is to help you deepen your understanding of the truth, live the truth, and ultimately become the truth—become like God. This transformation culminates in heaven, but it starts here on earth. We have our one chance, right now, to experience God as enfleshed human beings on earth. What you live here will be part of your history and your eternity. And you take your history with you when you die. It becomes a permanent part of you in eternity (but it becomes purified by the time you get to Heaven)
But all of this is meaningless if [Catholic Faith] exists only as words on a page or memorized
Taking Faith Beyond Words
The Catholic faith is the revelation of reality and the Holy Catholic Church is the pillar and foundation of truth. It serves as a beacon of truth and goodness, and it holds the teaching authority of Jesus Christ, the Son of God Himself. But all of this is meaningless if it exists only as words on a page or memorized facts. We need faith to be dynamic, impactful, and central to our lives, as fundamental and meaningful as our name and the blood in our veins.
The Journey and the Invitation
That’s my mission: to make the Catholic faith meaningful for you, to help it become as intrinsic to your identity as anything else. To help you to have a vibrant, strong, and passionate faith; full of motivation and hope. I hope you got something valuable out of this reflection.
