What am I Doing Here?
People misinterpret or misunderstand my mission and purpose on the inter webs, social media, and my podcast. My mission here may surprise you
Understanding My Mission
A lot of people misunderstand what I'm doing here. It's not just about my presence on social media or through my podcast. I’m not here just to help people be better Catholics. While that’s a part of it, my ultimate goal is much deeper and more profound. We are all on a journey toward heaven, striving toward our ultimate destiny: becoming saints. Souls in heaven are saints. But becoming a saint isn't just about the destination. It’s about the journey, the lives we've lived, and the experiences we've had that form who we are. So, what I aim to do is make the Catholic faith real for you—not just something to understand intellectually or theoretically, but something to truly absorb.
Making Faith Real
It’s important that you not only recognize and understand the faith but that it becomes a part of who you are. This deeper absorption changes the way you live your life on earth, making this single opportunity to chase holiness and experience God as a human being truly meaningful. One of the reasons why this journey is difficult is that the faith often becomes just an intellectual exercise. It can become mere furniture in our lives—something we decorate our existence with—rather than the very house we live in.
My Mission
So, my mission is to help you deepen your understanding of the truth, so that you can live it, and by living the Truth, to become the Truth (To become like God, the Eternal Truth). This transformation culminates in heaven, but it starts here on earth. What you live here and now will be part of your history and your eternity.
Taking Faith Beyond “Teachings”
The Catholic faith is the revelation of reality and the Holy Catholic Church stands as the pillar and foundation of truth. It serves as a beacon of truth and goodness, and it holds the teaching authority of Jesus Christ, the Son of God Himself. But all of this is meaningless if it exists only as words on a page or memorized facts. We need faith to be dynamic, impactful, and central to our lives, as fundamental and substantial as our name and the blood in our veins.
That sums up my mission: to make the Catholic faith meaningful for you, to help it become as intrinsic to your identity as anything else, and to help to form people into saints.
